The Gift of Life

Oct 3, 2018 | Action Corner, Aids

Every baby deserves to be born free from HIV.

Give the Gift of Life to mothers, babies, and families in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • $15 can provide lifesaving education and support to one HIV-positive woman over the course of her pregnancy and until her baby has a final HIV test at 18 months, protecting her baby from infection and keeping her healthy.
  • $25 can pay for 1,500 text messages to support and educate adolescents on HIV and safe sex.
  • $50 can fund a support group session for as many as 20 pregnant women and new mothers, providing them with a sisterhood of support to counter the isolation and stigma they often experience as HIV-positive women.
  • $150 can equip an Early Childhood Development Mentor Mother with a toolkit of educational toys, books, and activities to help young children reach their highest potential.
  • $250 can purchase a bicycle so that a Community Mentor Mother can reach women and families who live too far away or are too frightened or ill to travel to the nearest health center for medical care.

I want to bring awareness to the injustices women and girls face around the world.
